This new chapter requires a new you: How to prepare for what life has in store.

This new chapter requires a new you: How to prepare for what life has in store.

When we're growing and evolving into the next chapter of our lives, we're asked to do things a bit differently than we have before. That could include: dropping an unhealthy habit that's not allowing us to grow; or changing our habits, slightly, that better fit the new reality that we're manifesting. Old keys don't open new doors: We have to adopt new habits and new ways of thinking if we want to expand and level up. We need to listen to what our body is telling us by resting and conserving our energy for all the new that's about to come. We can't change and upgrade by staying the same.

In order to manifest new opportunities in our lives, we need to have room for those things to come in. That doesn't exactly mean cutting out everything to start anew, but it could just be that you need to create healthier practices for yourself that would benefit your future self. For example, if you're manifesting deeper relationships in your life, that would require you to go deeper within your own self - learn who you are at a deep level and accept each part. If you're manifesting respectful partnerships in business, you have to embody someone who is respectable and respectful, who shows up on time, who's a person of their word, and who deserves respect. Growing and getting to the next phase requires you to do things differently, things that might be a bit uncomfortable.

One of those things for me has been listening to my body and mind more when they tell me to stop. I was forcing myself to work when my body couldn't handle it and my mind was mush. I was pretending to be at 100% when I was really at 20%. And I was doing things that I later on had to go back and re-do. All of that could have been avoided if I had listened to my body in the first place: If I had taken the time to rest my mind and build my energy back up. Because we can be successful even while resting. Taking the time to journal, go outside, meditate, or watch a funny movie allows us to reset and separate our minds from what we're forcing them to do. And after resting - or even while resting - you can feel your creativity, your ideas and inspiration, coming back to you. This actually happened to me two weekends ago: I told myself I was going to rest and I released the guilt that came with that. Then within 30 minutes of letting my mind wander, I came up with a new content schedule that would make sense for my energy. So by not forcing things and allowing them to flow, those ideas came to me easily and instantly.

Resting also allows us to replenish our energy for what's to come, to purge things that don't serve a purpose in our life anymore. If you find yourself exhausted where no amount of sleep will help; or sick out of nowhere, that could mean you're purging energy that you don't need in order to make room for what you're manifesting (if it's more than that, absolutely see a doctor - don't just take my word for it!). Though I have experienced these symptoms while I was manifesting and I was set on creating a new reality for myself: I had to shed the old in order to become the new. For me, that shedding included: having daily headaches that forced me to sleep, crying, reflecting, and experiencing a lot of anger that I had to release.

Manifesting new things requires us to rearrange or remove certain aspects of our behavior, mindset, etc. that can't come along into our future. I think of manifesting sort of like grocery shopping: If you have a full cart and there's more you want to add, you'll have to adjust things in a smarter way, or take out certain things that you can do without. The milk could shift to a different spot, the vegetables could fit better together, etc. You'll have to change something in the cart so the pieces fit together in a more concise way. And by manifesting a new reality for yourself, you'll have to make room for it in your day-to-day and in your energy. You'll need to rest before entering that new chapter and bringing in new things that require more of your energy. If I'm manifesting more customers, I need to make sure I'm well rested to make their orders properly and on time. I also might need to adjust my workload in a smarter way so I can fit those new customers into my schedule. I have to do what's needed of me beforehand to be in that energy of receiving what I want.

When we're trying to grow and manifest new things, we need to adjust our lives to welcome those new things in. Doing things the old way isn't going to make room for the new. You may have to be more disciplined; wake up earlier; create a more sustainable routine; or even cut out habits altogether to replace them with healthier ones that align with where you want to go. This new chapter of your life requires a new you - it requires a shift that you haven't made yet. Get the rest you need, tweak what needs tweaking, and prepare for what's to come in.
